Description
RED FIRE TRUCK - In 1951, Prince George purchased it's second fire truck which was too large to get into the old fire hall's doors.
The truck was purchased in spite of strong opposition from the fire chief August Dornbrier (chief from 1842-1964).
Council approved spending $16,000 on the ladder truck, which ironically was never to be used even once.
The truck now sits in the Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park in Prince George, British Columbia as a children's' recreation item.
