Description
City Church/1st Aid Training - The original church building was from the North American Baptists, then it became the Hagar Memorial Baptist Church, which was one year younger than the City of Prince George. Then in 1960 a new church was built.
Then another name change to Bethel Baptist Church, which at the time they were still being held in German. They began English services to make it feel more inclusive, but the original congregation was started via Home Ministries one year after Prince George was founded.
As for the address 439 Cassiar Street, that came about when the land was separated when the church closed and the buildings were put up for sale.
Canada Post had to come out and measure how many steps it would take to deliver the mail to the church versus the mail to the parsonage.
The building at the back of the church, now used for 1st Aid training, was an addition to the original church to supply Sunday school classrooms, an office for the pastor and a multi-purpose room on the top floor.
