Vivian Martin has many creative avenues she's exploring but is working with three artistic passions at the moment.
As a young child, she learned to love photography and still pursues it today as a hobby turned business. "I got my first point-and-shoot camera from my grandmother and now I carry a camera wherever I go. In the last year, I've been doing a lot of macro work and I take my photo's back to my computer where I like to convert them into black and whites because I like the contrast and it creates a whole different image."
After losing several people close to her heart in recent years, Martin found it helpful for her healing process to keep busy by fashioning her own handcrafted, one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces.
MarV Wire Sculpture Jewelry has wire and natural stone pieces in a collection which includes earrings, necklaces, bracelets and rings.
Then two years ago, while travelling to see family she saw her first fabric sculpture and was intrigued, and she decided to try her hand at creating her own fabric sculpture characters.
"My sculptures are whimsical and suggest movement, yet the contrast of their appearance compared to their actual density is deceiving as they are very light weight. With the use of high-lighting, they become three-dimensional characters and they seem to almost come to life."
Using her skills as a photographer Vivian not only is dedicated to her photography of nature, wildlife and such, she has used her skills to photograph her fabric sculptures and her wire sculpture jewelry as well.
