Description
Grand Trunk Pacific Railway Bridge - At a half mile long, the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway bridge is the longest railway bridge in British Columbia.
Designed by French engineer Joseph Legrand, it was completed in 1914 at a cost of $1.6 million.
This single lane bridge was used by vehicles until the Yellowhead Bridge was constructed. The railway bridge is now used exclusively by trains.
In 1988 the Yellowhead Bridge, which carries Highway 16 over the Fraser River, was built.
